“On behalf of the City of Dubrovnik and myself, please receive sincere congratulations for organization of the Mediterranean Fair of Healthy Food and Medicinal Herbs. This fair is surely one of the most important promoters of tourist and gastronomic offer of Dubrovnik, Croatia and the Mediterranean. I’m extremely pleased that the fair already has its own tradition, so it can be included in the tourist offer of Dubrovnik. We hope that this year's fair will be at least as successful and attractive as the previous one.”
Sincerely, Mayor of Dubrovnik
Prof.Dr.sc. Andro Vlahušić
“In the long term, one can only achieve what one aims for, although there is a long way from an idea to a realization. My former student, Mr. Sc. Vedran Kraljević, was aiming high. The green technology has been his preoccupation for over two decades. He’s the first in Dubrovnik and Croatia, and the second in the former Yugoslavia, to found beautifully decorated organic food shop “Bio- Shop” in Ivo Vojnovic street, and today he is the leading person of the prominent Mediterranean Fair of Healthy Food and Medicinal Herbs in Dubrovnik. It seems that his long years’ dream became reality.
The green technology is the fastest growing market. Actually, it is the movement of the future that growing number of small producers want to join, realizing that their innovations, eco-products and services oriented towards improving human health are the best contribution to the society.
In my opinion, the Mediterranean Fair of Healthy Food and Medicinal Herbs is a well designed concept; interesting, attractive, and offering a different experience to consumers. This, truly trade fair, in the time of economic crisis, enriches the market with different domestic healthy products, and it is the great opportunity for buyers at the fair to pay less for good quality merchandise.
We can say that Dubrovnik gained the second big manifestation in pre-season; the first and irreplaceable is the celebration of St. Blaise Day- that praises the spirit, identity and pride of citizens of Dubrovnik, and the second one is the Mediterranean Fair- that celebrates skills of hundreds of small organic food producers, and shows the future of products and services oriented towards the health. (Healthy Life, Healthy City).
Visit the Mediterranean Fair, exhibition of healthy products; look, buy and return home with bags full of eco-products, recipes and ideas from the Mediterranean cuisine!”
D. Sc. Jerko Brešković, Society of Friends of Nature DUB-Dubrovnik
“Croatia definitely needs scientific conferences on organic agriculture, like the one in Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik and Cavtat are prestigious locations for discussions about organic agriculture: in the Dalmatian Hinterland lies enormous potential for ecological production, and along the Adriatic Coast there is a possibility for tourist market placement of eco products - a thing that Croatia almost doesn’t think of. It is a pity that the conference didn’t attract wider audience, or at least wider scientific audience. Ideally, such conference should be held annually, because then it could produce practical results.”
Prof. Nina Matetić Pelikan
”The only sustainable way of food production is organic agriculture."
Prof. Dr. Marjan Jošt
”Mediterranean Fair is definitely the best thing a coastal urban area can offer to the Croatian Village in terms of presentation and offer of eco –ethno products.
With my project, I participated on this fair from the beginning. Many nice and warm Croatian people from rural areas are permanent exhibitors on this fair, and their products are small art works and delicacies of planetary values. Every new appearance on this fair is not only a business opportunity, but an experience and an event that can not be missed. Big thanks to Vedran Kraljević and people who helped him create and maintain this important project.”
Kindest sports regards from Željko Mavrović (Eco project Mavrović)
”Organization of Conference on Organic Agriculture in Dubrovnik 2008, is a strong incentive to expansion of ecological production in Croatia. Organization of scientific and professional meetings on environmental issues should be continued in this beautiful city. That way, we will contribute to wellbeing of future generations.”
Dr.Sc. Vesna Samobor
”Compliments for the organization of last year's 6th Mediterranean Fair of Healthy Food and Medicinal Herbs! In our opinion, the event was done on a professional level, to the satisfaction of all participants and numerous visitors. I would emphasize the program on Mali Stradun, where we all enjoyed delicacies and rich program. We hope that this year’s Fair will be on the same level as the last one.”
Padre, Tomislav Topić (Trapist monks from Banja Luka)
”I believe that your fair contributed significantly to promotion of tourist and cultural values of Dubrovnik and Croatia, and improved the relationship between representatives of continental and Adriatic region in strengthening and improving the quality of our tourist offer.”
Prof. Dr. Sc. Davor Šamota, Faculty of Agriculture, Osijek
”The entire project was well conceptualized and I hope that it will be even more popular this year.”
Prof. Dr. Adam Benović
” For me, it is completely logical that Croatian most popular urban center, which for years carried out a respectable action Dubrovnik -Healthy City, became the host to a praiseworthy manifestation Mediterranean Fair of Healthy Food and Medicinal Herbs. In today's time when the health of people around the world is threatened with consumption of GMO food products and exposed to various other negative impacts, maintenance of this fair is an excellent indicator of environmental awareness and understanding of the benefits and opportunities that we have to use. In this light, I observe already achieved recognition and bright perspective of Mediterranean Fair of Healthy Food in Dubrovnik through connecting traditional agriculture and other ecological entrepreneurship with tourism industry in environmentally protected area of our Adriatic. We must keep in mind that Dubrovnik is the greatest and most known Croatian export brand. I support the efforts of the agile founder and leader of Mediterranean Fair, Mr. Sc. Vedran Kraljevic, on the expansion of the fair’s content.”
Suad Ahmetović, journalist and publicist from Dubrovnik
“Since the Mediterranean Fair of Healthy Food and Medicinal Herbs started with work in 2004, I’ve been documenting all related events with my photo camera.
This specialized manifestation proved to be the most important one in Dubrovnik–Neretva County, in the field of organic agriculture and other ecological entrepreneurship. It is especially interesting that exhibitors from all over Croatia and other Mediterranean countries will be present and will, at this occasion, offer their products at promotional prices.
I’m pleased that this year, I will personally participate at this fair, as a part of an interesting idea initiated by journalist and writer Suad Ahmetovic, who agreed with Vedran Kraljević to include the publishing activity in the content of the fair.”
